Jyoti Jain joins eDRV as Senior Advisor

From Telecoms to Decarbonization

Learning about climate change and its effects  was a transformational moment for Jain, who chose to move into businesses with decarbonization as its main outcome after a decade working in the telecoms space at Cisco Systems. “I wanted to help with impactful businesses where tech was part of the solution.” Jain said about her move towards decarbonization. “I moved into clean energy very purposefully and haven’t looked back!” 

Her first two engagements in decarbonization highlights the impact that Jain set out to achieve in space that is expanding quickly. Jain instilled much of her early experience in solar energy businesses like Locus Energy, Enact Systems and Solaria Corp, the latter of which where she spearheaded the digital roadmap and launched a solar sales and project management platform for Solaria’s partner network that comprised 1000+ companies across the US.

Jain moved into EV charging in 2022 as VP of Product Management at Voltera where she was responsible for creating Voltera’s product vision, roadmap and development strategy to offer innovative EV charging infrastructure solutions for businesses looking to operate EV Fleets and charging-as-a-service. With reliability being a core aspect of Voltera’s vision, Jain headed development of the company’s Energy Delivery Software Platform with a cost effective EV Charging Infrastructure Solution displaying an uptime SLA of over 98%.

In her time as a product leader, Jain has learned that asking the right questions and being a good listener to the end user is crucial to a good product. “It’s important to never rush to build without really understanding who you’re selling to.” Jain said about the ideal product leader, adding that “we’re problem solvers by nature who are outcome driven and very willing to dismantle our previous assumptions.”

What drew Jain to be a part of eDRV?

After having gained so much within the product management, we were thrilled to have Jain join us as an advisor. But what drew her to eDRV in the first place? After being introduced to eDRV’s charging management solutions, Jain was attracted by how software-focused and hardware agnostic eDRV’s business model was. “eDRV has the correct approach in their  comprehensive charging platform that can help charging businesses start with a solid software foundation and extend it to their unique needs” Jain said of the eDRV platform. 

“We were very aligned with Jyoti from early on what she could best bring to the table to eDRV’s growing product offering,” eDRV Cofounder and CEO Bhashar Deol said of Jain’s arrival at eDRV, adding that, “we’re arriving at a crucial juncture for mobility service providers as more software solutions are being developed for the EV charging market and Jyoti will play an essential role in helping us stand out from the pack.”

What’s the vision for eDRV’s future?

Already in the deep end with eDRV’s product strategy, Jain is now looking forward to helping bring eDrv’s AI based platform to the market. She believes that what’s truly missing in EV charging is ultra smart, self serving and self healing charger operations, where there are no phone calls needed. “We’re still in a very nascent stage in the market where hardware and capacity is the focus and software is an afterthought. ” Jain said about the landscape. “The end customer on a public charger is still plugging and praying, and it’s crucial that businesses like eDRV can take it to a level where chargers just work, always.”
